Find your EA backup codes
Where to find the three backup codes we need, and how to keep them working.
In short
EA asks for a code whenever someone signs in to your account from a new place. Backup codes are single-use codes that do this job. We need three, so that a code that has already been used doesn’t stop your order.
Where to find them
- Sign in to your EA account settings at myaccount.ea.com, on a computer or your phone.
- Open the Security section (called Security and Privacy in some versions).
- Under two-factor authentication (also called login verification), choose View next to backup codes. EA may ask you to confirm it’s you first.
- Copy three codes you haven’t used yet, exactly as shown.
EA renames its menus from time to time. If a step looks different, look for “Security” and “backup codes” in your EA account settings.
If you don’t see any backup codes
Backup codes only exist when two-factor authentication is on. Turn it on in the same Security section, by email or with an authenticator app, and then view your codes.
Keep them working
- Give us codes you haven’t used before. Each code works only once.
- Don’t create new codes while we deliver. New codes cancel the old ones, and delivery pauses until you paste a fresh one on your order page. If none arrives within 24 hours, the order stops and we refund the coins not yet delivered.
- If a code stops working, your order page asks for a new one. Paste it, and your order carries on by itself.
After delivery
Create a new set of backup codes and change your EA password. This cancels the codes you gave us, so they can’t be used again.
